Category FAQ
A crate engine is an assembled engine sold as a package for installation into a compatible application. “Crate engine” does not always mean fully dressed or ready to run; package contents vary by SKU.
Does a crate engine come with everything I need?
Not necessarily. Some are short blocks, long blocks or base engines; others may include intake, ignition or fuel-system components. Use each product’s included-components list as the source of truth.
How do I choose a crate engine for a swap?
Start with the engine platform and physical fit, then evaluate transmission compatibility, oil-pan clearance, fuel delivery, electronics, cooling, exhaust and the intended power level.
