Engine Shipping & Freight Delivery | PrimeCore Engines
Engines are heavy freight items, so delivery works differently from a standard parcel shipment. Review the process below before ordering so your address is ready and you know how to inspect the shipment when it arrives.
Where We Ship
PrimeCore ships engines using freight delivery services appropriate for heavy, palletized engine shipments.
Residential vs. Commercial Delivery
A commercial address with a loading dock or forklift may qualify for different freight service than a residential address. If residential delivery or liftgate service carries an additional charge, the applicable charge or checkout requirement should be clearly shown before the order is completed.
Before the Carrier Arrives
Because engines are heavy freight items, customers should prepare for delivery in advance.
- Confirm that the delivery phone number is correct.
- Make sure the receiving area can accommodate a freight truck and palletized engine.
- Arrange a forklift, dock or liftgate service as required by the shipment.
- Do not schedule installation based solely on an estimated transit date.
Inspect Before Signing
Customers should carefully inspect the shipment before accepting the freight.
1. Inspect the Packaging
Look at the pallet, crate and packaging before accepting the shipment.
2. Check for Visible Damage
Look for:
- Punctures
- Crushing
- Broken bands
- Visible impact
- Fluid contamination
3. Take Photos
Photograph any visible damage before the driver leaves.
4. Note Damage
Note any visible damage on the delivery receipt when required by the carrier or applicable policy.
5. Contact PrimeCore
Contact PrimeCore promptly using the applicable damage-report process if the shipment arrives damaged.
Lead Time vs. Transit Time
Lead time is the time required to prepare or build the engine before shipment.
Transit time begins after the carrier picks up the engine.
These are different stages of the delivery process. Product pages should display lead time and transit time separately whenever possible so customers have a clearer understanding of when their engine may arrive.
Freight Delivery Tips
For a smoother delivery experience:
- Make sure your shipping address is accurate.
- Provide a working delivery phone number.
- Prepare an appropriate receiving area.
- Confirm whether a forklift, loading dock or liftgate is needed.
- Inspect the shipment before signing for delivery.
- Photograph any visible damage.
- Keep the delivery documentation for your records.
- Contact PrimeCore promptly if there is a shipping issue.
Important Delivery Information
Engine freight delivery is different from standard parcel delivery. Delivery requirements may depend on the destination, address type, available equipment and freight service selected. Customers should review the applicable shipping information before placing an order and should not schedule installation based solely on an estimated transit date.
